New generation websites are able to take advantage of the increased bandwidth that broadband and high speed wireless networking offers. Even so, Sub@omic still belives that websites should be quick to load and accessible by as many visitors as possible. Sub@omic has chosen to standardise on two animation formats: GIF animations and QuickTime movies.

Many developers and designers are outputting Flash based content yet Sub@omic has chosen to develop on the two formats as it believes it offers the most versatility. QuickTime movies offer the developer an intensely creative medium to deliver animated and interactive content. From virtual tours, slideshows, 360° movies, object movies and video delivery right through to MIDI audio and voiceover capabilities Apple's QuickTime can stream rich content with one of the web's most widely downloaded browser plugins.
